How To Improve Your Golf Swing

There are a few different things that you can do in order to help improve your golf swing. In this article we will take a look at some ways on how to improve golf swing techniques through looking at the way other sports are played and the components that they use. Certainly what you may be unaware of is that other sports such as basketball, tennis or racquetball can prove to be extremely beneficial to the way you play the game of golf.

You will notice when a person is playing tennis and are getting ready to receive a serve their actual posture will be extremely loose and springy, but will also be steady and well balanced. When first preparing to take any kind of shot during a game of golf you should be aiming to have the same kind of posture as a tennis player has. The best way of ensuring that your posture is correct is by practicing how you should be standing without a golf club initially. You now need to look at the way you are standing as well as how the weight is distributed through your body. Plus look and see if you weight is balanced evenly across your feet and through your body and how you muscles are tensed. Once you feel comfortable with the position you have adopted you can now take a golf club place it in your hands and attempt to recreate the position you had without the club.

When it comes to actually getting started and preparing your self will help to get your swing correct. Most tennis players will prepare to serve a ball by either rocking on the balls of their feet or bouncing the ball itself in front of them a few times. With golf you need to waggle as this will help your body to become a lot more relaxed and help to but more rhythm into your movement. It is important that a golfer waggles their whole body rather than just their club head as this will give them a better start when it comes to actually swinging the club.

If you want to ensure that when you play a round of golf and you want to see your game improving then it may well be advisable to use another sport to help along with improving your swing. Certainly how to improve golf swing can be done by using a tennis racket or baseball bat. What you need to do is spend some time just looking at the way in which you swing either of these pieces of sports equipment. Look closely at the position in which your shoulders and hips start in before you hit the ball and then look at their position after you have followed through. Using this method and the same motions you would use to hit either a tennis or baseball you can then apply this to the way in which you swing the club. By doing this you are actually able to shit your weight automatically through your body and this then provides you with the necessary power and finish that you are wanting to achieve with every shot you take during a game of golf.

Tue., Dec. 14
New Orleans Bowl
North Texas vs Southern Mississippi

7:45 pm

Wed., Dec. 22

I want to pick Memphis to win this battle, but the Falcons scoring offense, 4th in the nation, will simply outscore Memphis regardless of how well they play.
8:00 pm

PlainsCapital Fort Worth Bowl
Cincinnati vs Marshall
SGs Pick: Marshall
Marshall has shown up to play in big games this year. I consider a bowl game a big game, wouldnt you?

SGs Pick: UCLA
UCLA should burn Wyoming with its passing and running game. Although, Wyoming is playing in its first bowl game in 11 yearsthats certainly motivating.

UAB vs Hawaii
SGs Pick: Hawaii
NCAAs all time passing leader should have a hay-day against this no show UAB defense

Fresno State failed to play with the big dogs this season and Virginia is on the horizon to become one.

Motor City Bowl
Toledo vs Connecticut
SGs Pick: Toledo
Connecticut has a football team? Well, thats what we would have said last season but they have a QB that can rip the secondary. You probably havent heard of him but the NFL scouts know him very well. Connecticut has a chance if they grasp the mindset they had when meeting Pittsburgh earlier in the year.

SGs Pick: Iowa State
Iowa States explosive offense will give Miami all they wantplus some.

SGs Pick: Louisville
This may be bowl game of the year. If you like fast attack offenses and aggressive scoring, this game is for you! Vegas will be exploding with total points bets on this one.
3:30 pm

14 Miami (FLA.) vs 20 Florida
Peach Bowl
SGs Pick: Florida
If Chris Leak (Gators) isnt the best QB in the land he will be. When the Gators are operating on all cylinders I would pick them to beat anyone in the country. Keep an eye on this one because it should be a money maker!
7:30 pm

Sat., Jan. 1
Cotton Bowl
15 Tennessee vs 22 Texas A&M

Wisconsin can play offense buy GAs fast defense will stop the run and force Wisconsin to throw resulting in too many mistakes to overcome. Georgia wins.

Florida State has put the lost to Florida behind them. Bowdens ability to dominate bowl games has a W written all over it.

Chelsea Run Away with the English Premiership Football Title

The seemingly invincible Chelsea FC look set to record their second consecutive Premiership soccer title after a convincing 2-0 defeat of liverpool FC.

Now 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League, Chelsea barring catastrophe will be champions again. This is in no small way due to their enigmatic manager Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese master tactician has instilled a belief of invincibility in his team that is rarely seen.

many fans of English football may point to the fact that Mourinho has spent vast amounts of his Chairman's money to attain this position, but that is not the reason for Chelsea's success. The credit must go to Mourinho, the man they call "The Special One". He continues to make the correct selections, and more importantly, his interventions from the sidelines are rarely innefective. He is the consummate professional.

Chelsea seem set to embark on a domination of the English game, and as long as Mourinho is in charge, they will continue to set the benchmark. Whether they can go on to dominate the European tournaments in the same way is a question soon to be answered, they certainly have the talent and the right man at the helm, but Europe is difficult to conquer.

The forthcoming Champions league games are awaited with baited breath...
